ghosts

No ghosts
of Christmases
past, present, or future

It is the ghost
of New Year past
that haunts me
The one that came
at 2 AM
held my hand
and kissed me

sige na nga.

I think, maybe
I should start believing in You
just so I’d have reason to go on.

Anyway.

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends. And some true friends.
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you.
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight.
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis,
It’s between you and GOD.
It was never between you and them anyway.

new year mantra

Go for broke.  Always try and do too much.  Dispense with safety nets.  Take a deep breath before you begin talking.  Aim for the stars.  Keep grinning.  Be bloody-minded.  Argue with the world.  And never forget that writing is as close as we get to keeping a hold on the thousand and one things — childhood, certainties, cities, doubts, dreams, instants, phrases, parents, loves — that go on slipping, like sand, through our fingers.

-Salman Rushdie

And that’s that.

I’m taking it all back.
I’m quitting, giving up, walking away.
Just like that.

light bulb moment

Just today after a short YM kamustahan with P, I realized:

that P is the new A
and R was (is?) the new P,
with K as the new S,
and history does repeat itself
and some us really don’t learn from our mistakes

Faute de Mieux

Travel, trouble, music, art
A kiss, a frock, a rhyme --
I never said they feed my heart
But still they pass my time.

- Dorothy Parker
